Current Work
Charlie is a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) and Board-Certified Clinical Spiritual Provider (BCC), bringing 15+ years of child/family-centered pastoral support and trauma-aware teaching into her studio work. She now leads The Hornes Studio | Hill Country Acting Collective & Story Lab, offering craft-based actor training to children and adults in Kerrville with a focus on imagination, clarity, and truthful storytelling.
The Adult Acting Studio
Scene study. Technique drills. Purpose-driven choices.
Adults train in The Scene Lab, working with the Stella Adler method to lift text off the page and turn choices into clear, playable action. Each season focuses on partner work, listening, truthful behavior, and the kind of disciplined rehearsal habits used in professional studios.
Classes integrate script analysis, moment-to-moment response, cold-reading drills, and audition preparation for local and regional theatre seasons. Every session ends in a low-tech black-box showcase so actors can practice working under lights, with an audience, and on a deadline — the way real productions function.
The Adult Studio is built for adults who want to train seriously, build usable material, and strengthen confidence in performance, work, and life.
The Children’s Acting Studio
Imagination. Story sense. Confident communication.
The Children’s Studio teaches acting through story, not spectacle. Students learn how stories work, how characters make choices, and how to speak clearly and confidently in front of others.
Training is based on age-appropriate Stella Adler principles: imagination over emotional mining, story understanding over “big feelings,” and action-based choices children can understand and enjoy.
Classes use world fables, modern parables, and simple tales to build clarity, teamwork, listening, and expressive play. Each session ends in a short, family-friendly studio showcase — not a full production — designed to help young actors practice presence without pressure.
Small groups.
Safe structure.
Real craft for growing minds.
The Private Coaching Studio
Targeted sessions for actors, leaders, and professionals of all ages.
Private coaching is focused, efficient work for adults, teens, and professionals who need precision: auditions, self-tapes, on-camera presence, monologues, public speaking, or leadership clarity. Sessions combine text work, actionable notes, rehearsal discipline, and camera-ready adjustments that strengthen performance quickly.
Clients use coaching to prepare for upcoming auditions, refine professional communication, or build confidence in high-stakes environments. Every appointment is tailored, practical, and grounded in the same professional standards used in film, theatre, and corporate rooms.
Appointment only. Limited sessions available.
